1. Attitude
• Check in with your attitude because your attitude is a choice and if you have a bad attitude you can change it.
• By adopting a positive attitude towards your goals, you are far more likely to achieve them.
• Instead of comparing yourself to others all the time. See your sport as an opportunity to become the best version of yourself.
• Quit chasing Perfection and strive for Excellence instead. Remember no one is perfect – not even your coach or your team mates!

2. Motivation
• Be persistence and stick with it. Sometimes you have to go through a rough patch or a difficult situation before you get the wins and the rewards

• Set yourself some goals that you believe in. Make sure they are simple, measurable, achieveable, realistic and they have a date on them.

• Ensure what you say to yourself is positive. Your internal dialogue has a huge influence on your sporting performance. Keep it positive.
• Communicate with yourself as if you are your own best friend.

5. Visualisation
• Use visualisation techniques to mentally rehearse your training or competition. See yourself succeeding or winning and run that movie or see the picture in your mind.
• Construct in your mind a mental image of your success that is specific, detailed and realistic

6. Focus
• Focus is everything in sport. You must focus on what you want.
• Learn how to maintain your concentration, even when there appears to be lots of distractions.
