Cause & Effect - Where is the Power?

Cause & Effect - Where is the Power?

The world that we live in today is very much about blaming someone or something else when things are not perfect.
How many times have you heard (or maybe said yourself) something like, “Oh my life is ruined because she left me,” or “My career is going no-where because my boss is no good.” The individual isn’t taking any responsibility for their life experience instead they have put themselves in the category of the victim – at the effect of someone or something outside of themselves and consequently given away their personal power. Which means they have set themselves up to be powerless in that context.

You’ll have met people who haven’t done the things they wanted to do in life, they have lots of reasons why...”I should of, could of, would of if it wasn’t for _____” and you can fill in the blank here with the reason. However, if you choose to move yourself to being at Cause then you are opening up the opportunity to become the person you want to be.

Being at Cause eliminates all the should of, could of and would of's. Which means you are 100% responsible for moving along the journey we call Life. If you encounter an obstacle then you find a way around it. If things are going uphill, then you’ve got to find a way to get over that hill. If things are going downhill, then you’ve got to find a way to moderate the speed so you don’t crash and burn!

From this empowering perspective of being at Cause you also come to the realisation that it is OK to fall on your journey, because there is a lesson in every experience in life. It’s actually counterproductive to beat yourself up when you have down times. There’s that saying, fall down 7 get up 8. Always get up, dust yourself off, learn the lesson and move on. By the way, the lesson is not about blame, rather you look for the resource or the value – that’s being at Cause. Then you become wiser. But you can only achieve that when you take responsibility and are at Cause. There is no wisdom in blaming yourself or others.

You see when you work with this simple concept, you realise that actually, there’s only you looking back in the mirror.  And once you know who you want to be, then it’s up to you to take responsibility and take action towards what you want.
